Every year on February 14th, the world turns its attention to a very specific kind of love—the romantic, the celebratory, and the personal. Our screens are filled with red roses and curated moments. But as I sit down to reflect on this day, I find myself thinking about a much broader, more resilient form of love: Harmony.

In my journey through law, marketing, and social activism, I’ve realized that the most powerful force for change isn’t a clever strategy or a legal precedent—it is the genuine care we extend to those around us.

Love as a Global Language

Love is the only currency that doesn’t lose value when it crosses borders. Whether we are discussing international relations, community building, or even how a brand treats its customers, the underlying foundation is always empathy. When we speak of “harmony,” we aren’t just talking about a lack of conflict; we are talking about a proactive choice to understand a perspective different from our own.

The People We Care For

Today is a reminder to look at the people in our immediate circle—our family, our colleagues, and our mentors—and acknowledge the silent support they provide. But as an advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves, I believe our care shouldn’t stop at our doorstep.

True harmony is found when we extend that “Valentine’s spirit” to:

  • The Stranger: Recognizing our shared humanity.
  • The Vulnerable: Using our platform and legal tools to protect those in need.
  • The Silent: Remembering the animals and the environment that share this planet with us.

A Day of Mixed Reflections

In India, this date also carries a weight of solemnity. As we celebrate the love in our lives, we do so in the peace earned by the sacrifices of others—like the brave souls we lost in Pulwama years ago. To me, honoring their memory is also an act of love. It is a reminder that the ultimate form of harmony often requires the ultimate form of selflessness.

Moving Forward with Compassion

My wish for you today isn’t just a “Happy Valentine’s Day” in the traditional sense. My wish is that you find a way to expand your circle of care.

Let’s choose harmony over noise. Let’s choose empathy over apathy. Let’s remember that every act of kindness—whether it’s a supportive word to a friend or a stand for social justice—is a contribution to a more loving world.
